Description
Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation (LMS) is oriented on research and development in cutting edge scientific and technological fields. LMS is involved in a number of research projects funded by the EC and European industrial partners. Particular emphasis is given to the co-operation with the European industry as well as with a number of “hi-tech” firms. LMS is under the direction and technical coordination of Professor George Chryssolouris. It currently employs approximately 70 researchers organized in three different groups: a) Manufacturing Processes Modelling and Energy Efficiency, b) Robots, Automation and Virtual Reality in Manufacturing and c) Manufacturing Systems.

Main Tasks in MAS4AI
LMS will be a R&D partner of the MAS4AI consortium. LMS will lead WP4 and will focus on the development of the intelligent hierarchical planning agent of the MAS4AI solution. LMS will also support the bicycle assembly pilot case in T6.4 in order to demonstrate the technologies/agents which will be developed during the MAS4AI project. LMS will also participate in T1.1 in order to support the definition of the bicycle industry case requirements. Also, LMS will lead the communication activities in T7.1 and focus on awareness creation as well as disseminate the project’s results to the appropriate events.
